Are you happy?
04 April 2019
I came across an article recently that reported that only 45% of people are happy in their new job.
I don’t know about you, but I think that is quite scary…
That means 55% of people are unhappy in their new job…. Why?
The same article suggested that the job was likely to have been mis-sold. I find that even scarier!
Now the best of us have a CV blip somewhere in our career. You know what I’m talking about. The job you started and almost instantly regretted. Could have been the job itself, the company, the culture….. It just wasn’t right for you and you would rather take the blip on your CV than stay. I guess that means that at one time or another most of us have been part of that 55% statistic.
Making a career move is a big deal and professionally speaking, one CV blip can be explained, many more is a job hopper label that you don’t want to have.
In my years of recruitment and executive search within the Healthcare Communications, I have seen CV blips in all shapes and sizes. And when I dig a little deeper, almost all of them could have been avoided.
When you work with a trusted recruitment or executive search partner to further your career, they should understand what you want and need, and you should feel safe in the knowledge that you have been understood.
You wouldn’t perform surgery on yourself, or fix your own plumbing would you?
My point is… If you’re thinking of making a career move any time soon, go to an expert!
18% of people make getting a new job their New Year’s resolution, so if your thinking of making a move, make it the right one for you.
